Checking for Broken Elements in the Print Head

[Printing] > [Advanced] > [Head Check]

During printing, check whether the print head is broken.

  • This function does not guarantee barcode readability. A regular barcode reader test is required. There may be a slight delay between the occurrence of white voids in printing and the activation of the Head Check function.
  • For labels printed after a head check results in error No. 1012 ([Head Error]), check any printed barcodes by scanning them with a scanner.

  • [Disabled]
    Disable the head check.

  • [All]
    Check the entire print area.

  • [Barcode]
    Check only the area for printing a barcode. Head check is not applicable for barcodes printed as graphic data.

Appears if you have selected [All] or [Barcode] for [Head Check].

  • [All]
    Perform the head check for every item.

  • [After Batch]
    The head check occurs before starting to print and when printing is stopped. When backfeed is enabled, a head check is performed at the following times:

    • Backfeed before printing: During backfeed and when printing stops

    • Backfeed after printing: Before printing starts and during backfeed

  • [Every Page]
    Perform the head check for each specified number of media.
    In [Every Page], specify how many labels to print before a head check is performed.
