Replacing the Platen Roller

If the platen roller is worn or damaged, replace it according to the following procedure:

When replacing the platen roller, make sure that the product is powered off, and disconnect the power cord from the outlet.

  • Do not operate the power supply, or connect or disconnect the power cord while your hands are wet. Doing so could cause an electric shock.
  1. Raise the lever toward you and pull the platen roller out to the right and remove it.
  2. Confirm that the flat surfaces of the metal components at both ends of the new platen roller are facing upward.
  3. Install the platen roller so the metal components align with the bearings as shown in the diagram.
  4. Slide the platen roller to the left to seat the metal components into the bearing.
    The mark on the black lever on the right side should point up. The platen roller cannot slide if the lever is rotated.
  5. Return the lever to its original position to lock the platen roller.
