Setting SOS (SATO Online Services)

Set the functions for SOS (SATO Online Services).

SOS (SATO Online Services) is a service that monitors printer operational status via the cloud and supports parts replacement and troubleshooting. It is necessary to register an account and register the product to be used. For details, refer to the SOS portal site.

  • A specialized application is required to scan QR codes and to read data via NFC.

[Mode]

Select the SOS connection method or disable SOS function.

  • [Disabled]
  • [On-Demand]
    Use one of the following methods to obtain the product information and send it to the SOS Cloud.
    • Scan the QR code displayed on the product's screen
    • NFC connection
  • [Real-Time]
    Sends the product information to the SOS cloud in real time using the wired LAN or wireless LAN connection.
  • [Light]
    Sends the product information to the SOS cloud in real time using the wired LAN or wireless LAN connection.

  • When connecting to SOS via [On-Demand] or [Light], you will be able to check the product's operating information via SOS Web. (Settings cannot be changed from SOS Web.)
  • When connecting to SOS via [Real-Time], you will be able to check the product's operating information, as well as to check and change the settings, via SOS Web.
  • The following settings appear if you select an option other than [Disabled].

Set the communication method for connecting to the SOS cloud.

[Allow Remote Control]

Set whether to allow setting the product (remote control) from SOS.

Appears if you select [Real-Time] for [Mode].

    Does not allow remote control from SOS.
  • [Until Reboot]
    Allows remote control from SOS until the product reboots.
  • [Allow]
    Always allows remote control from SOS.

[MQTT Protocol]

Set the communication protocol of MQTT.

Appears if you select [Real-Time] for [Mode].

  • When using a SIM connection (cellular) for SOS communication, we recommend setting it to [MQTT].

[Add Device]

Shows the serial number and association code that are necessary when adding the product to SOS.

[Contact]

SOS contact information that appears when an error occurs is displayed.

[Periodic Notification]

Set the frequency and timing for displaying periodic notifications from SOS.

Scan the displayed QR code shown in the notification, and send product information to the SOS cloud.

Appears if you select [On-Demand] for [Mode].

[Periodic Notification] > [Type]

  • [Disabled]
    Disable the periodic SOS notifications.
  • [Daily]
    Displays the notifications every day for specified number of times, at the specified time.
  • [Weekly]
    Displays the notifications every week at the specified time and day of the week.
  • [Monthly]
    Displays the notifications every month at the specified time and day.
  • [Counter]
    Displays the notifications when the counter of a consumable part reaches the specified value.
  • [Offline]
    Displays the notifications when the product is changed to Offline mode.

[Periodic Notification] > [Notification Count]

Specifies the number of notifications to be displayed per day.

Appears if you select [Daily] for [Type].

[Periodic Notification] > [Time 1] to [Time 3]

Set the times to display notifications.

The settings will be applied for the number of times specified in [Notification Count].

Specify the day of the week that notifications are displayed.

Select the consumable parts to be the basis for notifications.

  • [Cutter] and [Printhead+Cutter] are displayed when using a cutter, rotary cutter, or linerless cutter.

[Periodic Notification] > [Printhead]

Set when to display notifications based on the distance the print head has printed.
Appears if you set [Counter] in [Type], and [Printhead] or [Printhead+Cutter] is set in [Periodic Notification] > [Counter].

  • [Mileage]
    Specify the distances that will be printed by the print head. A notification is displayed at each print distance you specify.
    Initial value: 1,000 m (3,280.84 ft)
  • [Last Update]
    Shows the print distance of the print head for the last periodic notification.
  • [Next Update]
    Shows the print distance of the print head for the next periodic notification.
    Initial value: 1,000 m (3,280.84 ft)
  • [Current Value]
    Shows the current print distance of the print head.

[Periodic Notification] > [Cutter]

Set when to display notifications based on the number of cuts by the cutter.

Appears if you set [Counter] in [Type], and [Cutter] or [Printhead+Cutter] is set in [Periodic Notification] > [Counter].

  • [Cuts]
    Specify the number of times the cutter cuts. Displays a notification at each number of times specified.
    Initial value: 10,000
  • [Last Update]
    Shows the number of cuts by the cutter for the last notification.
  • [Next Update]
    Shows the number of cuts by the cutter for the next notification.
    Initial value: 0
  • [Current Value]
    Shows the current number of cuts by the cutter.

[QR code offset]

Correct the print position of the QR code displayed in scheduled notifications by SOS.

Appears if you select [On-Demand] for [Mode].

[QR code offset] > [Vertical]

Adjust the vertical position of the QR Code by setting '+' to move the print position in the direction opposite to the feed direction and '-' to move it in the feed direction.

[QR code offset] > [Horizontal]

Adjust the horizontal position of the QR Code by using "+" to adjust to the left side and "-" to adjust to the right side while facing the front of the product.

[Daily Checkup]

The current product information is displayed by the QR code. Scan the QR code and send it to the SOS cloud.

Appears if you select [On-Demand] for [Mode].

  • Instead of scanning a QR code, product information can be retrieved using an NFC connection and sent to the SOS cloud.
  • To print a QR code, tap .

To print a QR code, use media of the following sizes.

  • CL4-SXRMore than 41 mm (1.61") in length and more than 33 mm (1.30") in width (not including the liner)
  • CL6-SXRMore than 41 mm (1.61") in length and more than 55 mm (2.17") in width (not including the liner)

[Restore SOS Agent]

Restore the SOS agent to the factory default state.

  • After a firmware update, the SOS Agent is automatically updated to a version that is compatible with the installed firmware.

[Supply Order] > [Supply Order]

When using the Supply Order function, information about the media and ribbon used by the product is periodically sent to the SOS cloud.

When the inventory managed on the cloud runs low, you will be notified by email when it is time to reorder.

To use this function, it must be enabled on the SOS web app.

When the function is enabled, information from the SOS web app will be displayed in this menu. Settings cannot be changed from the product.

Appears if you select [Real-Time] or [Light] for [Mode].

[Supply Order] > [Registered Count]

The number of profiles registered on the SOS web app is displayed.

[Supply Order] > [Current Profile]

Select the number of the profile to display in [Supply Profile].

[Supply Order] > [Supply Profile] > [Last Updated]

The last updated date and time of the profile selected in [Current Profile] is displayed.

[Supply Order] > [Supply Profile] > [Label Data]

The label information registered in the profile on the SOS Web app is displayed.

[Supply Order] > [Supply Profile] > [Ribbon Data]

The ribbon information registered in the profile on the SOS Web app is displayed.

[Supply Order] > [Supply Profile] > [Optimal Print Settings]

When enabled, printing will be performed using the optimal print settings for each profile.

The settings will be applied to the corresponding item in the [Printing] menu.

[Version]

Shows the version of the SOS agent.
