Loading the Media Roll

• The routing path of the media is shown in the below picture. Face-in media (print side inward) Face-out media (print side outward) • You can also check the path of the media on the sticker on the inner side of the front cover. • The button stops the warning lamp's buzzer (if a warning lamp is connected). • Some procedures vary depending on the shape of the guide roller. When the media guide is not attached to the guide roller

When the media guide is attached to the guide roller

1.	Open the front cover (1).

• Open the front cover fully to its limit.

2.	Open the head lock lever (2) and the nip lock lever (3).

3.	Pull the media stopper (4) toward you and off, load the media (5), and then secure the media stopper.

* Print side

◦	The diagram shows face-in media. Face-out media is loaded in the opposite orientation.

◦	Make sure that the media roll is inserted all the way in.

4.	Removes the multiple labels from the end of the liner.

5.	Pass the media through the inside of the label damper (6).

6.	Pass the media below the guide roller (7) and the media sensor guide (8).

◦	Make sure the media is inserted all the way to the back.

7.	Pass the media under the print head (9) and pass just the liner in front of the assist blow nozzle (10).

◦	Do not pass the liner above the assist blow nozzle.

8.	Confirm that the paper guide (11) is the same width as the media.

9.	Pass only the liner between the nip roller and the pressure nip roller (12).

10.	Confirm that the clip for the liner winder (13) is pressed all the way in and clamp the liner with the tabs (14) on both sides.

11.	Rotate the liner winder (15) by hand in the direction of the arrow, to wind the liner.

12.	Close the head lock lever (2) and the nip lock lever (3).

13.	Align the media guide to the width of the media.

When the media guide is not attached to the guide roller

a.	Align the media guide (16) of the label damper to the width of the media.

When the media guide is attached to the guide roller

a.	Loosen the screw (17) and align the media guide of the guide roller to the width of the media .

b.	Tighten the screw (17) to secure the media guide.

• Secure the media guide so that its projection (18) and black ring (19) fit into the groove.

c.	Align the media guide (16) of the label damper to the width of the media.

14.	Close the front cover (1).

• When closing the front cover, be careful not to pinch your fingers.

15.	Press the button in Offline mode to feed media.

16.	Press the button.

17.	Press the button to change to Online mode.

18.	Do a print operation to confirm that the media is loaded correctly.

• You need to load the ribbon when printing using thermal transfer.
