[External I/O] Settings

Use the external (EXT) terminal as an interface between the external device and the printer.

The setting items are as follows:

[Signals]

Set the input/output signals.

Appears only if you have selected [Enabled] in the [Print Start Signal] menu.

The setting items are as follows:

[Inputs]

Assign the pin No. to the input signals Print Start and Reprint.

The setting items are as follows:

[Start Print]

Assign the pin No. for the Print Start signal input.

[Reprint]

Assign the pin No. for the Reprint signal input.

• You cannot set any inputs using the same pin number. If you attempt to set the same number, "Invalid Value" will be shown in red and you cannot save the settings.

[Outputs]

Assign the pin No. to the output signals.

The setting items are as follows:

[Paper End]

[Paper/Ribbon End] (For RFID models)

Assign the pin No. for the Paper End signal output.

Assign the pin No. for the Paper/Ribbon End signal output if you have installed the RFID module.

[Ribbon End]

[RFID Tag Error] (For RFID models)

Assign the pin No. for the Ribbon End signal output.

Assign the pin No. for the RFID Tag Error signal output if you have installed the RFID module.

[Machine Error]

[Machine/RFID Error] (For RFID models)

Assign the pin No. for the Machine Error signal output.

Assign the pin No. for the Machine/RFID Error signal output if you have installed the RFID module.

[Print Done]

Assign the pin No. for the Print Done signal output.

[Qty]

[Offline]

[Qty] is shown if [MODE1] is selected in the [EXT 9PIN] menu.

[Offline] is shown if [MODE2] is selected in the [EXT 9PIN] menu.

Assign the pin No. for the Qty/Offline signal output.

[Ribbon Near End]

Assign the pin No. for the Ribbon Near End signal output.

[Dispenser]

Assign the pin No. for the Dispenser signal output.

[Label Near End]

Assign the pin No. for the Label Near End signal output.

• You cannot set any outputs using the same pin number. If you attempt to set the same number, "Invalid Value" will be shown in red and you cannot save the settings.

[EXT 9PIN]

Set the function of the EXT 9PIN output.

[EXT Mode]

Set the mode of the Print End signal.

[Print Start Signal]

Enable or disable the Print Start signal.

[EXT I/O Re-print]

Set the reprint function that uses the external terminal.

[Print Start Signal] (For S84NX and S86NX series printers)

Printing starts if the Print Start signal (PRIN) is detected when the print data is available in Online mode.

The setting items are as follows:

[Enable]

Enable or disable the Print Start signal (PRIN).

If you have selected [Dispenser], [Linerless], or [Dispense & Print] in the [Printing] > [Print Mode] menu, the setting is fixed as enabled.

[PIN]

Assign the pin number for the Print Start signal (PRIN) input.

Available only if you have enabled the [Enable].

[Signal State]

Select the signal state to assign.

Available only if you have selected an item other than [AEP] in [PIN].

[EXT I/O Re-print] (For S84NX and S86NX series printers)

Prints the previously printed content again if the Reprint signal is detected when the print data is not available in Online mode.

The setting items are as follows:

[Enable]

Enable or disable the reprint function that uses the external terminal.

Available only if [Print Start Signal] > [Enable] is enabled.

[PIN]

Assign the pin number for the Reprint signal input.

Available only if you have enabled the [Enable].

[Signal State]

Select the signal state to assign.

Available only if you have selected an item other than [AEP] in [PIN].

[Continuous Print]

When this is enabled, reprint can be executed via the Print Start signal (PRIN).

Reprint can be executed either by enabling this setting or by the PIN assigned to the Reprint signal.

Available only if you have enabled the [Enable].

[Enhanced Reprint]

When this is enabled, the data that was just printed is reprinted even when the print data remains.

Available only if you have enabled the [Enable].

[Signals] (For S84NX and S86NX series printers)

Assign the input/output signals to the pin number.

• Do not assign the same function to multiple pin numbers when you are assigning input signal and output signal functions to pin numbers.

The setting items are as follows:

[Inputs] (For S84NX and S86NX series printers)

Assign the input signals to the pin number.

Select the pin to assign the signal.

The available pins are as follows:

[PIN7]/[PIN9]/[PIN10]/[PIN21]/[PIN22]/[PIN23]

The setting items are as follows:

[Function]

Select the function to assign.

[Signal State]

Select the signal state to assign.

Shows only if you have selected an item other than [Unassigned] in [Function].

[Outputs] (For S84NX and S86NX series printers)

Assign the output signals to the pin number.

Select the pin to assign the signal.

The available pins are as follows:

[PIN3]/[PIN4]/[PIN5]/[PIN6]/[PIN16]/[PIN17]/[PIN18]/[PIN19]

The setting items are as follows:

[Function]

Select the function to assign.

[Signal State]

Select the signal state to assign.

Shows only if you have selected an item other than [Unassigned] or [AEP] in [Function].
