Doing so could cause an electric shock. • Disconnect the power cord from the AC outlet before you replace the platen roller. Required tool • Phillips screwdriver Guideline to Replace the Platen Roller The platen roller has a striped marking on the left side. When the striped marking started to fade off, it indicates that you should replace the platen roller. • This is only a general guideline. The condition in which the platen roller wears out varies depending on the used media. In any cases, replace the worn platen roller when it affected the printing quality of the product. View the video below for the procedure.Standard/Left-Hand Type Opposite/Right-Hand Type 1. Make sure that the product is powered off, and disconnect the power cord from the AC outlet. 2. Open the top cover. • Open the top cover fully to prevent accidental drop of the cover.3. Turn the head lock lever (1) clockwise to unlock the print head. • The print head and its surroundings are hot after printing. Be careful not to get burned.• Touching the edge of the print head with your bare hand could cause injury.4. Loosen the screw (2) until the bearing clamp (3) is released . Do not remove the screw.5. Remove the bearing (4) from the chassis and the shaft of the platen roller (5). 6. Pull out the platen roller (5) from the product and replace it with a new platen roller. 7. Insert the gear end of the platen roller (5) fully into the center frame of the product. 8. Place the bearing (4) back to the chassis and the shaft of the platen roller (5). 9.
