[External I/O]
Use the external (EXT) terminal as an interface between the external device and the product.
The setting items are as follows:
[Print Start Signal]
Printing starts if the Print Start signal (PRIN) is detected when the print data is available in Online mode.
The setting items are as follows:
[Enable]
Enable or disable the Print Start signal (PRIN).
If you have selected [Dispenser], [Linerless], or [Dispense & Print] in the [Printing] > [Print Mode] menu, the setting is fixed as [Enabled].
The options are as follows:
Enabled
Enable the Print Start signal (PRIN).
Disabled
Disable the Print Start signal (PRIN).
[PIN]
Assign the pin number for the Print Start signal (PRIN) input.
Appears only if you have selected [Enabled] in the [Enable] menu.
The options are as follows:
PIN8
Assign Pin 8 to the Print Start signal (PRIN).
PIN20
Assign Pin 20 to the Print Start signal (PRIN).
AEP
Print starts when a request is sent from the AEP application.
[Signal State]
Select the signal state to assign.
Appears only if you have selected an item other than [AEP] in [PIN].
The options are as follows:

[Falling Edge]
•
[Rising Edge]
•
[Active Low]
•
[Active High]
[Feed]
Set whether to start feeding when the print start signal is detected even though there is no print data.
Appears only if you have selected items other than [AEP] in the [PIN] menu.
The options are as follows:
Enabled
Start feeding when the print start signal is detected.
Disabled
Do not start feeding when the print start signal has been detected.

When this function is enabled, the following functions are restricted.
◦
You cannot print after receiving print data.
◦
[Feed] signal in [Signals] > [Inputs] is disabled.
[EXT I/O Re-print]
Prints the previously printed content again if the Reprint signal is detected when the print data is not available in Online mode.
The setting items are as follows:
[Enable]
Set the reprint function that uses the external terminal.
Appears only if [Print Start Signal] > [Enable] is enabled.
The options are as follows:
Enabled
Enable the reprint function.
Disabled
Disable the reprint function.
[PIN]
Assign the pin number for the Reprint signal input.
Appears only if you have selected [Enabled] in the [Enable] menu.
The options are as follows:
PIN8
Assign Pin 8 to the Reprint signal.
PIN20
Assign Pin 20 to the Reprint signal.
[Signal State]
Select the signal state to assign.
The options are as follows:

[Falling Edge]
•
[Rising Edge]
•
[Active Low]
•
[Active High]
[Continuous Print]
When this is enabled, reprint can be executed via the Print Start signal (PRIN).
Reprint can be executed either by enabling this setting or by the PIN assigned to the Reprint signal.
Appears only if you have selected [Enabled] in the [Enable] menu.
The options are as follows:
Enabled
Enable the continuous print function.
Disabled
Disable the continuous print function.
[Enhanced Reprint]
When this is enabled, the data that was just printed is reprinted even when the print data remains.
Appears only if you have selected [Enabled] in the [Enable] menu.
The options are as follows:
Enabled
Enable the enhanced reprint function.
Disabled
Disable the enhanced reprint function.
[Signals]
Assign to the input/output signals to the pin number.

Do not assign the same function to multiple pin numbers when you are assigning input signal and output signal functions to pin numbers.
The setting items are as follows:
[Inputs]
Assign the input signals to the pin number.
Select the pin to assign the signal.
The available pins are as follows:
[PIN7]/[PIN9]/[PIN10]/[PIN21]/[PIN22]/[PIN23]
The setting items are as follows:
[Function]
Select the function to assign.
The options are as follows:
Label Near End
The product becomes label near end status when a signal is detected.
Feed
Media feeds when a signal is detected.
Cancel
Cancels print data when a signal is detected.
Online/Offline
Switches Online/Offline modes when a signal is detected.
Dispense In
When [Backfeed] in the [Printing] menu is set to [Controled], backfeed is performed when a signal is detected.
Unassigned
No signal is assigned.

If you have selected [Enabled] in the [Print Start Signal] > [Feed] menu, the [Feed] signal is disabled.
[Signal State]
Select the signal state to assign.
Appears only if you have selected an item other than [Unassigned] in [Function].
The options vary depending on the function set in [Function].
If you have selected [Label Near End] or [Feed] in [Function]:
•
[Active Low]
•
[Rising Edge]
If you have selected [Cancel], [Online/Offline] or [Dispense In] in [Function]:
•
[Falling Edge]
•
[Active High]
[Outputs]
Assign the output signals to the pin number.
Select the pin to assign the signal.
The available pins are as follows:
[PIN3]/[PIN4]/[PIN5]/[PIN6]/[PIN16]/[PIN17]/[PIN18]/[PIN19]
The setting items are as follows:
[Function]
Select the function to assign.
The options are as follows:
Paper End
Outputs a signal when the paper end is detected.
Ribbon End
Outputs a signal when the ribbon end is detected.
Machine Error
Outputs a signal when an error, such as a cover open, head error, or communication error is detected.
Print Done
Outputs a signal when printing is complete.
Print Ready
Outputs a signal when the product is in Online mode and ready for printing.
Online
Outputs a signal when the product is in Online mode.
Data Present
Outputs a signal when print data is available.
Ribbon Near End
Outputs a signal when the ribbon near end is detected.
Home Position
Outputs a signal when [Backfeed] in the [Printing] menu is set to [Controled] and backfeed is done.
Paper End/Ribbon End
Outputs a signal when the paper end or the ribbon end is detected.
Machine Error/RFID Error (For RFID models)
Outputs a signal when an error, such as cover open, head error, or communication error, is detected.
Or, outputs a signal when an RFID system error occurs.
RFID error (For RFID models)
Outputs a signal when an RFID system error occurs.
RFID Tag Error (For RFID models)
Outputs a signal when an RFID tag error occurs.
BCR Error
Outputs a signal when a barcode reading/comparison error is detected.
AEP
Outputs a signal for AEP (Application Enabled Printing).
Unassigned
No signal is assigned.
[Signal State]
Select the signal state to assign.
Appears only if you have selected an item other than [Unassigned] or [AEP] in [Function].
The options vary depending on the function set in [Function].
If you have selected [Print Done] in [Function]:
