Configuring Multiple Printers Using a CSV File

This procedure is useful when configuring multiple printers to connect to the Loftware Cloud without manually entering the required data on the printer.

Pre-requisites:

Preparing the CSV File

You can create the "settings.csv" file using Notepad, Microsoft Excel, or similar applications. Below are examples of how to do this using Notepad and Microsoft Excel.

Description of Field Names in the "settings.csv" File

[SerialNumber]: Enter the serial number of the printer.

[Account]: Enter your Loftware Cloud account name.

  • You can refer to your Loftware Cloud account name from the Loftware Control Center URL after logging in.

[Password]: Enter the [One-time connection key] you copied when registering your printer on the Loftware Control Center.

  • You can refer to the [One-time connection key] by clicking the printer name in the [Loftware Control Center] > [Printers] > [Cloud Printers] list. The information for the selected printer will be displayed.

  • Note that the [One-time connection key] is only visible when the printer is in [Pending] status. If the printer is in [Connected] or [Disconnected] status, the [One-time connection key] will not be displayed.

[Comment]: Enter any information for your reference. This is optional.

Creating the "settings.csv" File Using Notepad
  1. Open a new file using Notepad.

  2. Type the following field names separated by delimiters on the first line.

    "SerialNumber,Account,Password,Comment"

    • You can use either a comma (,) or a semicolon (;) as the delimiter.
  3. Enter your data according to the field name sequence on subsequent lines.

    For example, "AB123456,accountname,12345678,CT4-LX at office".

  4. Save the file with the filename as "settings.csv". Make sure the file is in .csv extension.

Creating the "settings.csv" File Using Microsoft Excel
  1. Open a new file using Microsoft Excel.

  2. In the first row, enter the following field names in each consecutive column:

    "SerialNumber", "Account", "Password", and "Comment".

  3. In the subsequent rows, enter your data according to these field names in the column headers.

For example, "AB123456", "accountname", "12345678", and "CT4-LX at office".

  4. Save the file with the filename as "settings.csv". Make sure the file is in .csv extension.

Preparing the USB Memory

  1. Save the downloaded [Loftware Connector for SATO] package file and the "settings.csv" file to the root directory of the USB memory.

    • Be sure to perform a virus check on the USB memory before connecting it to the printer. SATO Corporation shall not be held responsible for any product malfunctions caused by a virus spread via USB memory.
    • The printer does not support USB memory with security functions such as fingerprint authentication.
    • The printer does not support connection through the USB HUB.
    • Use USB memories that are formatted to FAT32.

Follow the procedures below to configure your printer to connect to the Loftware Cloud.

* This manual uses screenshots of the CT4-LX series printer for its descriptions. The appearance of the screens may vary when using other SATO printers.

Insert the USB memory into the printer's USB connector (Type A).

Please refer to the individual printer's operator manual for more details on connecting the USB memory.

The link to the printer's operator manual is on the Supported Printers page.

Once the printer detects the package file, it will show a confirmation message.

Confirm the package file and select to proceed with installation.

The printer automatically restarts after the installation is completed.

The [Install package?] confirmation screen displays again. This time, select .

The printer runs the application and checks the settings.csv file. If the serial number matches, the printer completes the connection process and displays the [AVAILABLE] screen.

Your printer is configured and connected to Loftware Cloud.

The Control Center lists your printer in the Cloud printers section with the status [Connected]. Your SATO printer is connected and ready to use.

Remove the USB memory from the printer.

Repeat steps 1 through 4 for the next registered printer and connect it to the Loftware Cloud.
