When You Are Not Logged In to the Printer

When You Are Already Logged In to the Printer

Use [Unlock Printer LCD] to unlock access to the [Setting] menu on the printer LCD.

This function is different from logging in to the printer from the application. Printer login lets the application perform functions that require authentication. [Unlock Printer LCD] lets you operate the printer LCD when the password setting is enabled on the printer LCD menu.

• [Unlock Printer LCD] can be used only with printers that support the printer login feature. For details about printer models that support the printer login feature, refer to Supported Models. • This feature is not available for CL4-SXR and CL6-SXR series printers.

Use one of the following methods:

When You Are Not Logged In to the Printer

1.	Click [Login].

2.	Enter the [User] access level.

3.	Do one of the following to enter the password:

(a) Unlock the printer LCD by entering the password

1) Enter the password.

　

(b) Unlock the printer LCD by retrieving the unique default password using a SATO ID AUTH account

• This feature supports only printers configured with a unique default password. These printers include a password label in the package. • If the unique default password has been changed, you cannot use the retrieved password to log in to the printer. Use the changed password instead.

1) Make sure to sign in to the application with your SATO ID AUTH account. If you are not logged in to the SATO ID AUTH account, [Get Default Password] is not available.

2) Click [Get Default Password] to retrieve the unique default password.

▪	The password is filled in automatically. To view it, click .

• If you need assistance to log in to the printer, click [Contact us here] to submit a request.

4.	Click [Unlock Printer LCD].

The application sends the command to unlock the printer LCD. Confirm the operation on the printer LCD, and then continue to operate the printer LCD menu.

When You Are Already Logged In to the Printer

1.	On the Printer page, click on the printer login status.

2.	Click [Unlock Printer LCD].

The [Access Control] dialog is shown.

3.	Do one of the following to enter the password:

(a) Unlock the printer LCD by entering the password

1) Enter the password.

　

(b) Unlock the printer LCD by retrieving the unique default password using a SATO ID AUTH account

• This feature supports only printers configured with a unique default password. These printers include a password label in the package. • If the unique default password has been changed, you cannot use the retrieved password to log in to the printer. Use the changed password instead.
