Retrieve the Default Password

By tapping your Android device or iPhone on the printer's NFC antenna, you can retrieve the unique default password for the printer login feature. After you retrieve the password, you can also unlock access to the printer LCD menu.

• This feature is available only when you are logged in to the application with a SATO ID AUTH account. For more details on logging in to SATO ID AUTH, refer to Logging in to SATO ID AUTH. • This feature supports only printers configured with a unique default password. These printers include a password label in the package.

Prerequisites:

•	Make sure that NFC is turned on for the Android device. NFC is always on for iPhone.

Retrieve the Unique Default Password

1.	On the [Home] page, tap the [Default Password Retrieval] icon.

The [Default Password Retrieval] screen appears.

2.	Tap [Scan printer] at the bottom of the screen.

3.	Hold the Android device or iPhone close to the printer's NFC antenna. The NFC antenna location is marked with a symbol.

• Do not move the Android device or iPhone away from the printer until the screen displays the password retrieval information.

4.	Select the [User] access level.

5.	Tap [Retrieve Password] to display the unique default password.

　

Unlock the Printer LCD From the [Default Password Retrieval] Page

After you retrieve the password, you can proceed to unlock access to the printer LCD menu.

• [Unlock Printer LCD] can be used only with printers that support the printer login feature. It is not available for CL4-SXR and CL6-SXR series printers.

6.	Tap [Unlock Printer LCD].

7.	Hold the Android device or iPhone close to the printer's NFC antenna. The NFC antenna location is marked with a symbol.

A dialog shows that the command to unlock the printer LCD has been sent successfully.

8.	Confirm the operation on the printer LCD, and then continue to operate the printer LCD menu.
