Adding Printers to the Printer List

You can add SATO printers connected through TCP/IP (LAN or Wi-Fi), or Bluetooth. Please note that only printers supported by the Mobile All-In-One Tool can be added.

On the [Printer] page, tap on the upper right corner to show the [Add Printer] screen.

If your printer list is empty, you may also tap the [Add Printer] button.

The following procedures show various interface options to connect to the printer.

Adding a Printer Connected via TCP/IP (LAN/Wi-Fi) Interface

Prerequisite:

•	Make sure your Android device or iPhone and the printer are connected to the same network.

1.	Tap [TCPIP].

2.	Enter the IP address of the printer.

3.	Enter the port number.

The default port number is 9100.

4.	If the printer uses encryption for LAN/Wi-Fi connection, turn on the [Use Encryption] toggle.

• The TCP/IP encryption setting must match the setting configured on the printer. • If the printer does not support encryption, leave the [Use Encryption] toggle turned off. • This feature is available only on selected printer models. For details, refer to Supported Models.

5.	Tap [Search].

The application verifies the printer connection:

◦	If the printer is detected, the printer series and printer name fields are filled in automatically. You can change the printer name later in step 7.

◦	If the printer is not detected, you can manually select the printer series and enter the printer name to add the printer as a disconnected printer.

6.	Select the printer series from the drop-down lists if the application cannot connect to the printer.

This field is set automatically when the printer is detected after you tap [Search].

7.	Enter a printer name.

• The printer name must be unique and cannot duplicate an existing printer name in the application.

8.	Tap [Save].

The printer is added to the [Printer] list.

Adding a Printer Connected via Bluetooth Interface (For Android Device)

Prerequisite:

•	Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your Android device and the printer is powered on.

1.	Tap [Bluetooth].

2.	Choose one of the following methods to connect to the printer via Bluetooth:

(a) [Select from Paired Bluetooth Device List]

Tap [Select from Paired Bluetooth Device List], then select the paired printer from the drop-down list.

• You must pair the printer with your Android device before you can select the printer from this list. For more details on the operation, refer to Pairing the Printer With Android Device.

(b) [Manual Input] the Bluetooth Address

Tap [Manual Input] and enter the Bluetooth address manually.

Alternatively, tap the icon and hold the Android device near the printer's NFC antenna to obtain the Bluetooth address automatically. The Bluetooth address is captured and saved.

• Make sure the printer is powered on during this operation.

3.	If the printer uses encryption for the Bluetooth connection, turn on the [Use Encryption] toggle.

• The Bluetooth encryption setting must match the setting configured on the printer. • If the printer does not support encryption, leave the [Use Encryption] toggle turned off. • This feature is available only on selected printer models. For details, refer to Supported Models.

When [Use Encryption] is turned on, the [Bluetooth Encryption] dialog appears.

4.	Enter the password configured on the printer, then tap [Save].

5.	Tap [Search].

The application verifies the printer connection:

◦	If the printer is detected, the printer series and printer name fields are filled in automatically. You can change the printer name later in step 7.

◦	If the printer is not detected, you can manually select the printer series and enter the printer name to add the printer as a disconnected printer.

6.	Select the printer series from the drop-down lists if the application cannot connect to the printer.

This field is set automatically when the Android device successfully creates a Bluetooth link after you tap [Search].

7.	Enter a printer name.

• The printer name must be unique and cannot duplicate an existing printer name in the application.

8.	Tap [Save].

The printer is added to the [Printer] list.

Adding a Printer Connected via Bluetooth Interface (For iPhone)

Prerequisite:

•	Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your iPhone and the printer is powered on.

•	Make sure the printer’s Bluetooth authentication level is set to Level 4 to support pairing with an iPhone.

1.	Tap [Bluetooth].

2.	Tap the [Bluetooth device] drop-down list, then select the paired printer you want to add.

• You must pair the printer with your iPhone before it appears in the list. For more details on the operation, refer to Pairing the Printer With iPhone. • Alternatively, tap [Don't see your device?] for additional help. In the help dialog: ◦ Tap [Start Pairing] to pair the printer. ◦ To find the Bluetooth name of the printer, tap [Start Scanning], then hold the iPhone near the printer’s NFC antenna. Make sure the printer is powered on. The printer’s Bluetooth name appears in the dialog.

3.	If the printer uses encryption for the Bluetooth connection, turn on the [Use Encryption] toggle.

• The Bluetooth encryption setting must match the setting configured on the printer. • If the printer does not support encryption, leave the [Use Encryption] toggle turned off. • This feature is available only on selected printer models. For details, refer to Supported Models.

When [Use Encryption] is turned on, the [Bluetooth Encryption] dialog appears.

4.	Enter the password configured on the printer, then tap [Save].

5.	Tap [Search].
