Logging in to the Printer

The printer login feature adds an extra layer of security and is available only on selected models. For details on supported models, refer to Supported Models. Before you perform any printer operations, you must log in to the printer.

The following procedure explains how to log in either by entering the password manually or by using a SATO ID AUTH account to retrieve the unique default password.

1.	If you are not logged in to the printer, a dialog appears on the dashboard prompting you to log in.

2.	Tap [Log In] or the printer icon to open the Printer Connection and Access panel.

3.	In the Printer Connection and Access panel, enter the [User] access level.

4.	Do one of the following:

(a) Log in by entering the printer password manually

1) Enter the password.

2) Tap [Login].

　

(b) Log in using a SATO ID AUTH account to retrieve the unique default password

• This feature supports only printers configured with a unique default password. • If the unique default password has been changed, you cannot use the retrieved password to log in to the printer. Use the changed password instead.

1) Make sure you are logged in to the application with your SATO ID AUTH account on the [Home] page.

2) Tap [Get Default Password] to retrieve the unique default password.

The password is filled in automatically. To view it, tap .

3) Tap [Login].

After you log in successfully, the Printer Connection and Access panel refreshes and displays the updated login status.

• Swipe right to close the Printer Connection and Access panel.

　

Log Out of the Printer

You can log out of the printer using either of the following methods:

•	On the Printer Connection and Access panel, tap [Log Out].

A confirmation dialog appears. Tap [Log Out] to log out.

　

•	On the Printer Dashboard, tap the login status button.

A confirmation dialog appears. Tap [Log Out] to log out.
