License Activator

The License Activator feature allows users to activate or deactivate printer feature licenses by using the NFC interface.

• Currently, only the PDF Direct Print license is supported. PDF Direct Print is not yet available in Japan.

Prerequisites:

•	Make sure the printer is installed with firmware that supports the selected printer feature.

•	Make sure that NFC is turned on for the Android device. NFC is always on for iPhone.

•	Make sure the target printer is powered on, NFC is enabled, and Power Save Mode is disabled.

•	If the printer supports the printer login feature, you must log in to the printer from the application before you continue.

When you use the NFC interface, tap [Verify Status] on the [Easy Printer Login] page to check whether printer login is required. You can also log in to the printer using the NFC interface from this page.

1.	On the [Home] page, tap the [License Activator] icon.

2.	On the [License Activator] screen, you can choose to activate or deactivate the printer feature license.

Continue with the following procedures according to the selected option.

Activate the Printer Feature License

1.	On the [License Activator] screen, tap [Activate] to display the [Activate License] screen.

[Activate] is initially selected.

2.	Select the feature that you want to activate.

3.	Enter the license key.

4.	Tap [Activate License].

5.	Hold the Android device or iPhone close to the printer's NFC antenna. The NFC antenna location is marked with a symbol.

• Do not move your Android device or iPhone away from the printer until a dialog appears.

The dialog indicates that the command was sent to the printer successfully.

6.	After the license activation command is sent to the printer, check the activation status from the printer’s display menu.

For example, when you activate the PDF Direct Print license for the CL4NX Plus printer, go to [Settings] > [Applications] > [DIRECT PRINT] > [PDF License] > [Activation Status] on the printer to check the activation status.

Deactivate the Printer Feature License

1.	On the [License Activator] screen, tap [Deactivate] to display the [Deactivate License] screen.

2.	Select the feature that you want to deactivate.

3.	Tap [Deactivate License].

4.	A confirmation dialog appears to confirm if you want to deactivate the selected feature's license. Tap [OK] to proceed.

5.	Hold the Android device or iPhone close to the printer's NFC antenna. The NFC antenna location is marked with a symbol.

• Do not move your Android device or iPhone away from the printer until a dialog appears.

The dialog indicates that the command was sent to the printer successfully.

6.	After the license deactivation command is sent to the printer, check the activation status from the printer’s display menu.

For example, when you deactivate the PDF Direct Print license for the CL4NX Plus printer, go to [Settings] > [Applications] > [DIRECT PRINT] > [PDF License] > [Activation Status] on the printer to check the activation status.
