Using the NFC Interface

You can use the NFC interface to perform supported functions by tapping your Android device or iPhone on the printer's NFC antenna.

• WT4-AXB series (International Model) printers do not support the NFC interface. Features that use the NFC interface are not available for these printers.

Selecting the NFC Interface

You can select the NFC interface in two ways.

From the Home Page

1.	On the [Home] page, tap [Other NFC Functions].

2.	The [Using NFC interface] dashboard opens.

The dashboard displays the functions that support NFC data transfer between your Android device or iPhone and the printer.

From the Printer Dashboard or Any Function Page

1.	On the printer dashboard or any function page, tap the Switch printer icon.

2.	On the [Switch printer] panel, select [Use NFC interface].

3.	The [Using NFC interface] dashboard opens, or the current function page switches to NFC mode.

Available Functions in NFC Interface

On the [Using NFC interface] dashboard, only the following functions are available.

[Default Password Retrieval]

[Default Password Retrieval] appears only when you are logged in to the application with your SATO ID AUTH account.

Using NFC to Transfer Data

To transfer data between your Android device or iPhone and the printer using NFC:

Before you begin:

•	In the application, go to the function that uses the NFC interface, and then follow the instructions for that function in this user manual.

1.	Hold your Android device or iPhone close to the printer’s NFC antenna. The NFC antenna location is marked with a symbol.

2.	Keep the device in place until the NFC communication is complete.

• Make sure that NFC is turned on for the Android device. NFC is always on for iPhone. • Make sure the target printer is powered on, NFC is enabled, and the Power Save Mode is disabled. • When you apply printer configuration using the NFC interface, you must power off the printer. This requirement is specific to printer behavior and differs from normal NFC operation.
