Log In to the Printer Using the NFC Interface

Use this procedure when the target printer has not been added to the printer list, but printer login is required before you use application functions.

For details about printer models that support the printer login feature, refer to Supported Models.

Before you log in to the printer, you can verify the printer login status on the [Easy Printer Login] page.

The following procedure explains how to log in either by entering the password manually or by using a SATO ID AUTH account to retrieve the unique default password.

Prerequisites:

•	Make sure that NFC is turned on for the Android device. NFC is always on for iPhone.

•	Make sure the target printer is powered on, NFC is enabled, and Power Save Mode is disabled.

1.	On the [Home] page, tap [Easy Printer Login].

2.	On the [Easy Printer Login] page, enter the [User] access level.

3.	Do one of the following to enter the password:

(a) To enter the printer password manually:

1) Enter the password.

　

(b) To retrieve the unique default password using a SATO ID AUTH account:

• This feature supports only printers configured with a unique default password. These printers include a password label in the package. • If the unique default password has been changed, you cannot use the retrieved password to log in to the printer. Use the changed password instead.

1) Make sure you are logged in to the application with your SATO ID AUTH account on the [Home] page.

If you are not logged in to the SATO ID AUTH account, [Get Default Password] is not available.

2) Tap [Get Default Password].

3) Hold the Android device or iPhone close to the printer's NFC antenna. The NFC antenna location is marked with a symbol.

The unique default password is retrieved and filled in automatically. To show the password, tap .

4.	Tap [Login].

5.	Hold the Android device or iPhone close to the printer's NFC antenna. The NFC antenna location is marked with a symbol.

This process requires three times of data transfer between your Android device or iPhone and the printer.

◦	The first tap is to retrieve the printer status.

◦	The second tap is to retrieve the printer data.

◦	The third tap is to log in to the printer.

6.	Repeat tap and hold the Android device or iPhone close to the printer's NFC antenna when prompted until the third time is completed.

A dialog appears when login to the printer is successful.
